Our host location: SunMountain Center

Our host location is SunMountain Center in Manitou Springs, CO. SunMountain is a historic bed-and-breakfast and wellness and yoga retreat venue, featuring two historic homes in a natural environment for guests to delve further into their consciousness and practice through yoga, the arts, timeless teachings, and farm-to-table cuisine. The historic homes were built in the early 1900’s and are situated on six acres of terraced gardens and biodynamic farms, complete with walking and meditation trails and stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

SunMountain Center creates an unmatched atmosphere encompassing the surreal tranquility of nature while offering an intimate setting. Located just an hour south of Denver, and nestled into the foothills of the Front Range, SunMountain Center is the perfect location for a weekend getaway. Reconnect with yourself in the serene natural environment, explore the eclectic and historic downtown scene of Manitou Springs within walking distance, or enjoy the local tourist attractions like Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak and the Cog Railway, the Manitou Incline, or the Cave of the Winds.

Take the opportunity to rest, replenish, and renew yourself holistically as you discover beauty, inspiration, and history around every corner.

As part of the retreat, you will also receive a voucher for a 2-hour soak at nearby SunWater Spa. You are invited to experience the healing waters that make SunWater so unique; the life-giving Sun, the Earth, native healing plants, and the practices of the indigenous cultures that have thrived on this land. SunWater Spa features mineral-water soaking in cedar tubs and offers spa treatments.

Common Retreat Myths and FAQs

I need to be an expert at yoga to attend

This is a yoga retreat, so you will have the option to practice yoga every day (some days twice), however, the sessions will be appropriate for all levels of students - including beginners. Carrie’s style of teaching is fun and lighthearted, with a strong focus on alignment, making classes more workshop-like than traditional power yoga classes. There is always the option to skip sessions if you prefer to spend your time participating in another activity. However, we think you will be happy you did if you choose to participate.

I must wear expensive yoga clothes

For the retreat, you should dress casual and comfortable, but there’s no need to run out to buy a new wardrobe. Your definition of casual, and any expression of you, is welcome and appropriate.
