About the Retreat

Join Firefly for our first winter retreat in the mountains of Colorado to gain tools to tackle all that life throws at you. This weekend (2 nights/3 days) of yoga, hiking / snowshoeing, soaking in the hot springs, and connecting with others will leave you feeling inspired, refreshed and ready to create the life you want!

This retreat will include an optional challenging hike (or snowshoe - depending on how much snow we have) in the Rockies for those who want to experience the incredible views, and enjoy the fresh mountain air while getting a great workout hiking at altitude.

Firefly designs retreats intended to help you connect with yourself, others, and nature. We believe that pressing pause, and stepping away from your day-to-day grind allows you to tap into your passion and purpose. We want to help you ignite your life, so you can thrive.

What to Expect

This weekend in the mountains of Colorado will include:

  • Daily yoga classes appropriate for all levels including vinyasa-style practice to energize and yin practice to recuperate and restore

  • Meals beginning with dinner Friday evening and ending with breakfast on Sunday morning; a packed lunch will be provided for our hike on Saturday

  • Group hike (if snow shoes are needed, extra cost may apply for equipment rental)

  • Access to the spa and hot springs

  • Two nights of lodging at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort (See below for room options)

A full schedule of meals, yoga classes and group activities will be provided closer to the retreat dates.

Our host location: Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort

Our host location is Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort, located three hours from Denver between the towns of Buena Vista and Salida, and at the foot of the Collegiate peaks of the Rocky Mountains. Indulge in the multiple pools fed by 100% natural hot springs, treat yourself at the spa, and enjoy meals that provide the nourishment you'll need for yoga and hiking.

Reconnect with yourself in the serene natural environment. Take the opportunity to rest, replenish, and renew yourself holistically as you discover beauty, inspiration, and history around every corner.

As part of the retreat, you will have access to the Spa, Club and hot springs. Enjoy the Soaking PoolExercise Pool and the hot springs in Chalk Creek, a must do at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort. These pools are located right in midst of the cool rushing waters of Chalk Creek. Each pool is fed by its own natural geothermal hot spring that is bubbling up into the actual creek bed and into circles of stones that create natural pools. Control the temperature by simply removing a few stones to allow cooler water to rush in. Open late at night, the hot springs are great to sit and gaze at the stars.

The Spa and Club is the place to get away from it all. Enjoy the steam rooms, saunas, plus guest- and adult-only hot spring pools. Enjoy the Juice Bar inside before or after your Spa appointment to unwind in style. Professional and personable, the licensed massage therapists have a gift for making you feel comfortable and a knack for relaxing your body’s hidden tensions. Specialists in medicinal massage and oriental body work, they are highly skilled in cranial massage, myofascial release, and reflexology. Exfoliating salt scrubs and deep tissue massage are also favorites of Mount Princeton guests.

Common Retreat Myths and FAQs

I need to be an expert at yoga to attend

This is a yoga retreat, so you will have the option to practice yoga every day (some days twice), however, the sessions will be appropriate for all levels of students - including beginners. Carrie’s style of teaching is fun and lighthearted, with a strong focus on alignment, making classes more workshop-like than traditional power yoga classes. There is always the option to skip sessions if you prefer to spend your time participating in another activity. However, we think you will be happy you did if you choose to participate.

I must wear expensive yoga clothes

For the retreat, you should dress casual and comfortable, but there’s no need to run out to buy a new wardrobe. Your definition of casual, and any expression of you, is welcome and appropriate.

TESTIMONIALS

"I have been on several of Carrie's yoga retreats and have loved every one of them. She is far and above better than any other instructor I have had for yoga. She is smart, capable, spiritual, gentle, yet firm with her directions and movement. The locations she chooses for her retreats are just perfect for us. I come home from her retreats fully refreshed (physically and emotionally) and always yearning for more time with her!"

- Lisa, multi-retreat participant

"This retreat has given me a re-focus and sense of myself and happiness. It was a much needed retreat (in the truest sense of the word) from everyday pressures, worries and endless tasks."
