Hawaii is a destination renowned for its friendly and genuine people and spectacular nature. While it may seem remote, Hawaii is easily accessible from the United States and Canada. "Aloha" is used both as a greeting or farewell, but the true meaning of aloha is so much more than that. Aloha means love, peace and compassion, and the aloha spirit is coordination of mind and heart. When you live aloha, you are living a life connected with your true self in which your heart is so full that it is overflowing with the ability to influence others with your spirit. You will quickly see that aloha is more than just a phrase – it is a way of life.
Hawaii is like no place on earth. Home to the world’s most active volcanoes, Hawaii is known for its beauty and diverse culture, and offers a wealth of unforgettable experiences. Discover the glimmering ocean, emerald valleys and golden sands; get lost in the spiritual beauty of the hula and find out how the warmth of Hawaii’s people wonderfully complement the islands’ perfect temperatures. On the full 9-Day Retreat we will visit two of the most stunningly beautiful islands, Maui and Kauai.
Maui, known also as “The Valley Isle,” is the second largest Hawaiian island. The island is beloved for its world-famous beaches, the sacred Iao Valley, views of migrating humpback whales (during winter months), farm-to-table cuisine and the magnificent sunrise and sunset from Haleakala.
Kauai is Hawaii's fourth largest island and is sometimes called the "Garden Isle," which is an entirely accurate description. It is one hour and 15 minutes via plane from Maui. The oldest and northernmost island in the Hawaiian chain is draped in emerald valleys, sharp mountain spires and jagged cliffs aged by time and the elements. Centuries of growth have formed tropical rainforests, forking rivers and cascading waterfalls. Some parts of Kauai are only accessible by sea or air, revealing views beyond your imagination. More than just dramatic beauty, the island is home to a variety of outdoor activities. You can kayak the Wailua River, snorkel on Poipu Beach, hike the trails of Kokee State Park, but it is the island's laid-back atmosphere and rich culture found in its small towns that make it truly timeless.
