Portugal Yoga Adventure
New Dates - September 5 - 11, 2021
About the Retreat
Ignite your life and sense of adventure with our journey to Portugal.
Connect to yourself and dig deeper into your soul while practicing yoga two times per day in the recently expanded beautiful Portuguese-tiled yoga shala with cork insulated wooden flooring overlooking the Italian garden. With huge sliding doors on three sides, enjoy the soundtrack of the fountain and the singing birds with the sun on your face.
After morning yoga, grab a bike and enjoy a short ride to the beach. Explore the beautiful beaches of Algarve, and get out on the water with optional excursions such as stand up paddle boarding and sailing.
Alternatively, choose to lose yourself along the many winding paths onsite, lounge by the pool, or enjoy a massage, facial, reiki or holistic treatment.
Find serenity in the magnificent Quinta Bonita gardens, unique in the Algarve. A botanical haven with fountains, ponds, cobbled pathways, terraces, an orchard, a Mediterranean “dry” garden, an Italian Garden, a zen garden and a giant chess set; all within walled grounds that offer complete privacy and a view of the sea in the distance through the trees.
In the center of the gardens, and overlooked by the giant olive tree and avocado tree, find the pool, surrounded by terraces with sun loungers, tables and chairs – providing a perfect oasis for a calm afternoon in the sun. Float on an enormous bean bag on the pool or cool yourself in the water.
Connect with your fellow travelers, and indulge your love of fine food and wine made with a plethora of healthy ingredients and sourced from the freshest local providers. We'll visit the neighboring winery, not open to the public, for a truly authentic Portuguese experience. We'll enjoy a delicious home cooked meal in their rustic barn with a choice of wines.
This retreat is sold out. Check out our other retreat options here.

Who this Retreat is For
This retreat is perfect for solo travelers, friends, or couples who are looking for more than a vacation. This week-long retreat will appeal to travelers who want to experience all that the Algarve region of Portugal has to offer without having to do any planning, and also desire to focus on health and wellness by practicing daily yoga and eating healthy food.
You'll have the opportunity to practice yoga every day, however, you do not need to be an expert at yoga to attend. The sessions will be appropriate for all levels of students - including beginners. Carrie’s style of teaching is fun and lighthearted, with a strong focus on alignment, making the vinyasa classes more workshop-like than your typical power yoga class.
The afternoon classes will be yin yoga, which are accessible for all levels of yoga practitioners. Holding in stretches will help your body recover from daily excursions, relieve tension and stress, improve flexibility and encourage mindfulness. There is always the option to skip sessions if you prefer to spend your time participating in another activity or resting. However, we think you will be happy you did if you choose to participate.
While there will be a strong focus on health and wellness, there will be no shortage of fun and adventure as we explore the wonderful activities Portugal has to offer, including a visit to a neighboring winery. Remember to bring some cash or a credit card if you choose to enjoy adult beverages while at the retreat center or when out and about, as alcohol is available but not included in the cost of the retreat.
Our host location:
Our host location is a luxurious country house set in tranquil gardens located only 4km from the beautiful beach of Praia da Luz and the historic old town of Lagos with its many beaches, restaurants, and shops.
Quinta Bonita is set on a hillside, offering an array of sun-drenched terraces and verandas with far-reaching views. Seek sanctuary, and let your senses absorb the sounds of fountains and birds, and incredible views while soaking up the sun's rays.
We'll have the house to ourselves, with eight rooms refreshed in early 2020, each with air-conditioning, electronic safe, luxury linens, toiletries, and some with a flat screen TV. The rooms all have individual styles ranging from traditional Portuguese golden & blue tones to modern mono-chrome looks. The house has a large dining area, traditional and well-equipped kitchen, large entrance hall with a beautiful steep stone staircase, and outdoor lounge and dining area.
Each of the rooms can be set up as a single (or double for a couple) with a large king bed, or a double with two twin beds. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms, and have balconies or terraces with table and chairs from which to enjoy the beautiful gardens and ocean views.
