You work hard every day, and rarely take time to reset and refresh. Torch Yoga believes that balance is the key to happiness. Join us on retreat in the Shenandoah Valley in Luray, Virginia this Fall. Find balance in nature by enjoying 4 days and 3 nights in a premiere Blue Ridge and Massanutten mountain cabin. Each day will start with a vigorous yoga class followed by some free time…time to wander in the woods or take a dip in the hot tub. Following your free time, we will head out as a group for a daily hike to experience some of nature’s most picturesque views. You will leave this amazing space feeling balanced and ready to take on whatever life dishes out.

What to Expect

This weekend in the mountains of Virginia will include:

  • Daily yoga classes to energize 

  • Two healthy meals per day beginning with dinner Thursday evening and ending with breakfast on Sunday morning

  • Group hikes 

  • Three nights accommodation in beautiful mountain cabin

  • Optional activities are available in the area

A full schedule of meals, yoga classes and group activities will be provided closer to the retreat dates.   

Our host location: Absolute Perfect Escape Cabin

Our host location is a nine-bedroom, three-bathroom private cabin. Enjoy mountain views from a rocking chair on the covered porch, or from the deluxe hot tub on the open deck. Relax and converse with your fellow travelers around the fire pit. The home includes a pool table and arcade games for some evening entertainment. 

Located in the Shenandoah Valley near Luray, this is quickest way to unplug and enjoy nature with no crowds.

There are seven rooms with one queen bed each that are perfect for couples, and one room with two double beds.

Single: $775; Sold Out

Option for a private room in one of the seven rooms with one queen bed. 

Payment Details and Cancelation Policy

Retreat rate includes:

  • 3 nights accommodations 

  • Breakfast and dinner each day (dinner only on arrival day and breakfast only on departure day)

  • Daily yoga session

  • Group hike

Retreat rate does not include:

  • Airfare (if applicable)

  • Transportation to/from retreat 

  • Additional excursions 

  • Gratuities

  • Alcoholic drinks 

Payment and Cancelation Policy

To reserve your space on this retreat, a non-refundable US $250 deposit is required. Final retreat payment is due by August 5, 2019. A US $25 fee is applied to all registered participants paying via credit card for payment processing fees. This fee is waived if paying by check or directly from a bank account using Venmo or Google Pay. Payment plans can be arranged, however, anyone registering after August 5, 2019 will be required to pay in full upon registration. Should you need to cancel your reservation at least 30 days prior to the start of the retreat, you will receive a refund for payment made less the $250 deposit. Should you need to cancel less than 30 days prior to the retreat, for whatever reason, we will not be able to provide a refund or credit. No refund or credit will be given for arriving late or departing early. In the unlikely event that Torch Yoga needs to cancel the retreat, a full refund will be given. We strongly advise the purchase of travel insurance at the time of booking your retreat in case of any unexpected events or changes to your plans before or during your trip.

Meet your guide

 

Jessica Proctor started her career in the fitness industry in Boulder, CO. When she moved to CO in 2005 the beauty of the mountains inspired her to do things that she had never done before. After hiking a number of mountain passes, overcoming the challenge of running at high elevation and even climbing rocky peaks she realized that she would love to inspire people to explore life and to push themselves beyond their expectations.

After receiving an Associates of Occupational Studies in Personal Training from Heritage College in Denver, CO, she went on to receive her personal training certificate from the American Council on Exercise and began working with clients from all walks of life. Soon after that she was introduced to CorePower Yoga in Boulder, CO. She fell in love with the practice of Power Yoga and decided to take the teacher training program to fine tune her own practice. While working through the program she found that teaching yoga came naturally to her. She was able to combine her skills of anatomy, physiology and psychology to offer a strong structure to her yoga classes that would challenge students to push themselves and to encourage them to get stronger safely. After a year of teaching in Boulder, Jessica decided to move back to her home town of Brighton, MI. It was here that she realized that teaching was more than just a job; it was a life style and a passion. She had the pleasure of being a part of a growing community of yogis. As her personal practice began to develop so did her classes.

After teaching a full load of classes in MI, Jessica decided she was ready for the next chapter in her life. She married Darrick Proctor, a firefighter for the Norfolk Fire Department. She moved to Virginia Beach and was looking for a studio where she could share her love of the practice. She realized the need for a space that offered freedom of exploration and creativity so she decided to open Torch Yoga Studio. She wanted to create a space where people could feel safe and grow. Her vision was to open people’s eyes to the practice of Power Yoga; to provide a space where people can feel free to move and breathe, to fall and get back up and to try new things whenever possible. She also saw the need to create a space where teachers could share their skills and feel free to challenge the students because she knows that without challenge there is no change.

Jessica started Torch Yoga to build a community of like minded individuals. She greatly looks forward to sharing her knowledge of yoga with you. “We will work hard, challenge ourselves, push ourselves to the limit and never give up. Don’t think, just do.”
